As always, the Aliwal Urban Art Festival presents a wonderfully vibrant line-up — notwithstanding their excellent taste in live music, once again they open up the floodgates of Singapore's creative underground, with dance acts, art booths and more to keep you there through the day on January 14th.
On its live music stage, hosted by Lush 99.5's Elias Soh, the festival will feature emo band Forests, noir-rock duo TOMGIRL, synth-pop band Disco Hue, hip-hop tribute act Ant-Men, and indie pop DJ duo EATMEPOPTART.
The music barely stops there, as electronic collective Syndicate will host their own Beat Boutique, featuring a turntablism showcase and workshop by E-TracX DJ Skool, along with sets by producer Night Dives, and Syndicate co-founders Cherry Chan and Kiat. The venerable Kiat, who recently released an EP titled Dubsmash, will perform a special set with poet and TEDx speaker Deborah Emmanuel.
Aliwal Urban Art Festival is happening from 5pm to 2am at Aliwal Arts Centre on January 14th, free entry. RSVP on their official Facebook event page, with more details on the list of programmes.
