Animelo Summer Live, or ANISAMA WORLD, the biggest anime music festival featuring Japanese artists, is coming to Manila this year thanks to concert promoter Wilbros Live. The event will take place at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, 7 June.
Organized by Dwango and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, the popular festival showcases Japanese music artists and anime voice actors performing songs from anime, tokusatsu, and video game themes.
The first name revealed was ASH DA HERO, the acclaimed rock band behind the hits like 'Judgement' (the opening theme for Blue Lock) and 'Beast Mode / Octave' (from Blue Lock: Nagi). Their unique blend of punk rock and and hip-hop makes them a must-see act live.
Ave Muijica, the famed all-girl band from the BanG Dream! franchise is also set to headline. The group consists of five members, namely Misumi Uika (Doloris) on lead guitar and vocals, Wakaba Mutsumi (Mortis) on rhythm guitar, Yahata Umiri (Timoris) on bass, Yuutenji Nyamu (Amoris) on drums, and Togawa Sakiko (Oblivionis) on keyboard.
Singer Mayu Maeshima, the former lead vocalist of pop-rock band MYTH & ROID is slated to perform as well. She is best known as the voice behind 'STYX HELIX' for Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World, and other songs featured on anime like Full Drive, Overlord and Uncle from Another World.
A total of eight artists will be performing, so look out for more announcements in the coming weeks!
