On 26 October, Jin of BTS teased his forthcoming single with a video clip featuring a spaceship that crashed onto the ground.

Coldplay also posted a preview of the track co-written by Jin and all four members of Coldplay – Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, Guy Berryman , and produced by Kygo and Bill Rahko.

Out on 28 October, the song serves as the pop star's first official single, following the recent official release of his solo songs Abyss,' 'Tonight' and the viral hit, 'Super Tuna.'
'The Astronaut' is set to make its live debut with a one-night-only performance by Jin and Coldplay at the band's Music of the Spheres concert in Argentina. Happening on 29 October KST, fans can watch in cinemas around the globe or wait for the 3 PM KST drop on BANGTANTV.
