EPEX returns with Youth Chapter 2: YOUTH DEFICIENCY, the second installment of their Youth trilogy, following Youth Chapter 1: YOUTH DAYS from April. While the previous chapter explored early love and youthful challenges, this album focuses on confronting personal shortcomings and the struggle to grow. Through these eight new tracks, EPEX aims to offer solace to young listeners who may feel pressured by the need to be “enough.”

The album’s title track, ‘UNIVERSE,’ features a shuffle beat and direct melody, capturing the idea of making someone their whole world. Earlier, EPEX teased the album’s themes with ‘My Girl,’ an R&B love song about the awkwardness and courage in expressing first love. Other tracks explore diverse facets of youth, like the nostalgic ‘낭만소녀 (1997),’ the upbeat ‘It is what it is’ celebrating imperfection, and the introspective ‘Attosecond,’ which reflects on the fleeting nature of youth.

With Youth Chapter 2: YOUTH DEFICIENCY, EPEX has crafted an album that resonates with the struggles and beauty of growing up. Members KEUM and MU describe the album as a heartfelt exploration of their own journey, aiming to connect deeply with listeners experiencing similar challenges. This release strengthens EPEX’s reputation for capturing youth’s raw essence, leaving fans excited for the trilogy’s concluding chapter.
