Held at The Beverly Hilton on 11 January, the ceremony awarded the best in film and TV from the past year.

On stage, the star delivered an emotional speech, "Hollywood was a dream come true until I came here," the Malaysian actress shared, noting that she was called a "minority" and asked if she could speak English early in her career. Forty years later, "It has been an amazing journey and incredible fight to be here today, but I think it's worth it," she added.
Besides the Best Actress In A Musical Or Comedy Motion Picture Award, the Everything, Everywhere, All at Once star - Ke Huy Quan, who famously began his career as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) - won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

In his heartwarming speech, he excitedly acknowledged the man in the crowd who gave him his first break, Temple of Doom director, Steven Spielberg. "When I started my career as a child actor in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, I felt very lucky to have been chosen. As I grew older, I started to wonder if that was it. If that was just luck. For so many years, I was afraid I had nothing more to offer. That no matter what I did, I would never surpass what I achived as a kid." Quan said during his speech. "Thankfully, more than 3 years later, two guys thought of me. They remembered that kid. And they gave me an oppurtunity to try again.
"Everything that has happened since has been unbelievable," Quan said. "Dan Kwan, Daniel Sheinert, thank you so, so much for helping me find my answer. You have given me more than I could have ever hoped."
A night of making history, M. M. Keeravani, Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj have won Best Original Song at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards for the song 'Naatu Naatu' from the Telugu blockbuster, RRR. The feat is a first Golden Globe for India, besting out tracks by the likes of global superstars Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
"I'm very much overwhelmed with this great moment happening," said M. M. Keeravani upon accepting the award. "It's been an age old practice to say that this award actually belongs to someone else. So I was planning to not say those words when I get an award like this, but I'm sory to say I'm going to repeat the tradition because I mean my words." Keeravani then proceeded on to individually thank RRR's director S. S Rajamouli, actors N. T. Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan, the song's lyricists, co-composers, programmers and scene animator.
