John Mayer's Solo Tour is heading to Japan.
The American singer-songwriter and guitarist has announced that he will be performing at the prestigious Blue Note Tokyo on 29, 30, and 31 December. Located in Tokyo's Aoyoma district, Blue Note Tokyo is the biggest jazz venue in the Japanese capital.
Since opening its doors in 1988, it has hosted performances from acclaimed international musicians, including Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea.
"It’s been a dream of mine to play [at] Blue Note Tokyo and I can’t wait to return to Japan," Mayer wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a year of musical adventure than by closing out 2023 with a run of New Year’s shows at the world famous Blue Note in Tokyo, Japan. It’s been a dream of mine… pic.twitter.com/Jc9yNPdVhM
The 45-year-old's solo arena tour, which kicked off in March this year and has taken him to cities across North America and Europe, is described as a return to the 'Gravity' act's earlier days, during which he performed with "only a guitar and a microphone". It features a mix of old and new numbers as well as never-before-heard tracks presented on the electric and acoustic guitars and the piano.
Tickets to Mayer's three shows at Blue Note Tokyo, priced from JPY 44,000, will be available during a pre-sale on Blue Note Tokyo's official website from 12 PM local time on 7 November. The general sale will commence at 12 PM local time on 14 November.
