Filipina R&B songstress Kiana V is back with her latest single 'Sana' - a blissful track that speaks to the universal longing for second chances and the enduring power of love.
More importantly, gorgeous new song is also an ode to her parents, as it was announced on her father’s birthday before being released on her mother’s birthday.
'Sana' samples 'Sana Maulit Muli', a powerful ballad by her Filipino-Puerto Rican father Gary Valenciano, which was co-written with her mother Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano.
Sung in both English and Tagalog, the tune drips with bittersweet authenticity and questions what it means to move through conflicting feelings of hopefulness and heartbreak.
“'Sana' is a song for and about all the ones that got away," Kiana says. "It’s about acknowledging that you wouldn’t change the past, but you can’t bring this person with you into the future.”
Kiana is currently working on a full-length project which is slated to drop in early 2025.
