Phoenix's new album is almost here.
Titled Alpha Zulu, the forthcoming record will serve as the band's first album since 2017's Ti Amo. Ahead of the album drop on 4 November 2022, the French quartet shared another peek into their seventh studio album with a new single, 'Tonight.' The track recruits Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, marking Phoenix's first time to feature a guest vocalist on a song.

The visual, directed by Oscar Boyson, features a split screen with Phoenix in Paris and Koenig in Tokyo.
In true Phoenix fashion, the upcoming album will include 10 tracks, including previously released single 'Alpha Zulu,' and 'Identical,' which was featured on Sofia Coppola's 2020 film, On The Rocks.

Alpha Zulu was recorded and produced amidst the ongoing pandemic at the Paris’ Musée des Arts Décoratifs inside the Palais du Louvre. The band took fans on a studio tour via Instagram live a couple weeks ago, giving fans a look into the studio before they packed up their instruments. In a press statement, Laurent Brancowitz shares, "We felt it would be a fantastic adventure to create something out of nothing in a museum. And so, with the pandemic, we could live exactly this scene — to be alone in an empty museum."
"We had many moments where we could feel his ideas," Christian Mazzalai shares about the band's friend and frequent collaborator, Philippe Zdar, who tragically passed away in 2019. Zdar worked with Phoenix on a chunk of their discography throughout the years, and this will be their first album since his passing.
Phoenix kick off their Alpha Zulu tour this month in the US, wrapping up in Europe in late November.
