Back in 2015, we expressed concern about the dwindling number of mid-sized venues in Singapore. Now almost a decade later, it’s heartening to see that many in government and private organisations have taken steps to remedy this, with more and more stages opening up for live performances from local and international musicians alike.
While it is true that Singapore is currently in the midst of a concert boom, not every artist commands the following of a Taylor Swift or Coldplay, or is suited to intimate performances at bars and live houses. Most fall somewhere in between, which is why our presently surging live music industry benefits greatly when there are plenty of mid-sized options to choose from.

One such location is Singapore EXPO, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary on 30 July. Over the past quarter century, Singapore EXPO has been no stranger to hosting high-profile events - ranging from a variety of exciting concerts to a number of symposiums, conventions and conferences.
Singapore EXPO is also looking to the future with Arena @ EXPO (Hall 7) - a multipurpose concert hall that can accommodate up to 6,700 attendees (with plans in place to increase the capacity) - as part of their line-up of enhanced offerings. The space is a state-of-the-art endeavour that offers an advanced AV system, top-notch acoustics, exceptional lighting rigs, and extensive backstage amenities - which are all customisable.

Best of all, the venue does much to simplify organisation for promoters. From their convenient plug-and-play system and flat-fee venue rental (with half and full options), to tapping on their event support partners (as part of the EXPO Advantage Program) and even providing crowd management equipment and manpower - Arena @ EXPO aims to streamline and optimise processes at every turn.
In particular, the scalability of its space is a key feature of the new venue. Arena @ EXPO is adaptable to accommodate full seating or partial free-standing configurations, as well as a wide range of audience sizes, starting from a few hundred on up. But should organisers want to hold larger concerts or events, Singapore EXPO's configurable Halls 2-6 are ideal.

One recent example was Alan Walker’s Singapore stop during his acclaimed Walkerworld Asia Tour Pt. 1, presented by H.I.T Team, JS Concert Production and Supermodified. The famed Norwegian DJ and record producer’s performance this past June, which drew legions of fans from across the region, was held across Halls 3 and 4.
Beyond live music such as that stellar production, or others like CK Star Entertainment’s recent showcase of prominent South Korean hip-hop / R&B artists DEAN and Tabber - Singapore EXPO's versatile hall setups are also suitable for fan-meets, musicals and more - which is why they call themeselves a “Playground of Possibilities”.
If you're interested in experiencing Singapore EXPO for yourselves, upcoming events concert-goers can look forward to include Wilber Pan, Laufey, HIGHLIGHT and Madison Beer and more.
