Halloween is creeping up on us (no pun intended), and it's officially time to start thinking of costume ideas.
Celebrities are usually the best people to get inspiration from, what with their limitless budget and tendency to be as outlandish as possible when it comes to dressing up. We at Bandwagon have rounded up some of our favourite celebrity Halloween costumes from past years' Halloween parties. Whether it's a fun movie-themed fit or a costume that will have others shivering in fear, you're sure to get some inspiration for an Instagram-worthy costume this year.
BTS
In 2014, global superstars BTS released a video that featured all seven members dressed in different costumes for Halloween. Dressing up as various characters from the comic actor Charlie Chaplin to the frightening Chucky, the group showed their candid side as they put on an entertaining performance of their track 'War of Hormone' decked out in their creepiest fits.

Rihanna
From releasing hit tracks to unveiling her own successful skincare, makeup, and lingerie lines, there's nothing Rihanna can't do, and that includes impressing everyone with her Halloween outfits. The 'Work' singer and her friends took on the roles of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles squad for Halloween one year, where she painted herself green from head to toe. Complete with leather straps, the iconic ninja turtle masks, and even claws, who wouldn't want to try out this elaborate costume for Halloween?
(G)I-DLE
With their charisma and grace, one would never associate the members of (G)I-DLE with feelings of terror and fear. However, their Halloween getups for their nightmare version of the track 'Put It Straight' may just change your mind. From dressing up as The Nun to the Corpse Bride, the group's costumes definitely left an impression on fans and viewers of the video.

Harry Styles
Of course, Harry Styles could wear anything and he would still look "golden". For a 2018 Halloween party, the One Direction member turned up as the legendary Elton John. Clad in John's 1975 outfit that he wore while performing at the Dodgers game, the singer shined in a reflective jersey with rhinestone-encrusted pink frames on his face. If you're looking to stand out this year, this costume might just be it.
Beyonce and Jay-Z
Looking for couple costumes that will stand out from the rest? There's no better inspiration than one of Hollywood's biggest celebrity couples – Beyonce and Jay-Z. The Carters had everyone on the internet talking when they unveiled their costumes for Halloween in 2016. Dressed up as Barbie and Ken, the musicians' costumes were so detailed that they included cardboard boxes just like the ones you'll find Barbie dolls come packaged in.
Rita Ora
You know you've succeeded at a Halloween costume when others actually can't tell if you're the person you're dressed as. British singer Rita Ora took her Halloween costume to the next level, dressing up as rapper Post Malone with a fake beard, fake tattoos, and even a beer and cigarette as props. The 'R.I.P.' singer was attending the KISS Haunted House party in London, where she also performed in costume.
Katy Perry
This costume idea by the one and only Katy Perry is for the snack-lovers out there. Simple, yet attention-grabbing, this bright orange costume was one of the most talked-about celebrity costumes that year. Dressed as a flamin' hot Cheeto, Perry definitely made others jealous that they hadn't come up with the idea first. After all, who wouldn't want to spend Halloween dressed as their favourite snack?
NCT DREAM
Rather than opting for a spooky getup, the members of NCT DREAM attended the 2017 SMTOWN Halloween Party as well-loved Smurf characters. Chenle went as Brainy Smurf, while Jisung went as Clumsy Smurf. Jeno and Renjun's costumes were more elaborate with wigs and beards, where they dressed up as Papa Smurf and Smurfette.

TWICE
Fans of K-pop girl group TWICE always look forward to the members' yearly anniversary fanmeets that are always held around Halloween, and they are never disappointed. Since 2018, the group has held annual fanmeets where they dress up as different characters while performing on stage. At their fourth anniversary fanmeet in 2019, the 'The Feels' act's costumes included a genie from Aladdin, Maleficent, and Boo from Monsters Inc.

Lady Gaga
Of course, we couldn't leave out the iconic Lady Gaga – who's known for her outlandish outfits even when it's not Halloween – out of this list. For Halloween 2017, the singer nailed her costume as Edward Scissorhands. Special makeup achieved the look of scars and dark undereye circles, while giant scissors served as the pop singer's hands for the night. Talk about an elaborate Halloween costume!
