The nominees for the 34th Golden Melody Awards are here. 

Earlier this week, the famed Taiwanese award ceremony unveiled their shortlist of nominees which includes acts from an array of genres and styles. Hosted by WeiBird, the 34th Golden Melody Awards will be happening this 1 July at the Taipei Arena, and will also be livestreamed via YouTube for the first time in the awards' history. 

This year's awards committee reportedly received the highest submissions compared to previous years. The final shortlist consists of 169 works contending for 27 awards. Nominees include Jay Chou, A-Lin, The Crane, Elephant Gym, LÜCY, Cosmospeople, Hush, Lala Hsu, Lexie Lsu, Olivia Tsao, Sam Liao, Ling Ching-chi, Hung Pei-yu, and more. 

This year's Special Contribution Award will be awarded to late lyricist and producer Eric Lin and veteran Taiwanese pop star FeiFei Ou-Yang.

Like previous editions, the 34th Golden Melody Awards will follow the Golden Melody Festival, which features keynotes speeches from international and regional industry figures, and showcase performances from acts like the Philippines' Flu, Singapore's motifs, and Thailand's PERSES, as well as local acts like Karencici, I Mean Us, Lei Qing, and more. The Golden Melody Festival will be happening at Corner Max Taipei from 28 to 30 June.
