5 things to look forward to at Billie Eilish's 'Happier Than Ever, The World Tour' concert in Singapore

ESTIMATED

The wait for Billie Eilish's return to Singapore is almost over.

In just a few days, the American wunderkind will bring her sixth headlining tour, titled "Happier Than Ever, The World Tour" to the Lion City's shores.

At the upcoming leg of Billie's globe-trotting tour, which is promoted by Live Nation Singapore, the 20-year-old will make history by becoming the youngest artist to hold a concert at the Singapore National Stadium.

There, the seven-time GRAMMY winner — who last performed in Singapore as part of the 2018 edition of the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival — will delight fans with live renditions of tunes from her second studio album, after which the world tour is named, as well as a selection of favourites from the rest of her discography.

In anticipation of what will surely go down as a night to remember, here is a list of five things that you can expect at Billie's concert in Singapore.

A UNIQUELY BILLIE PERFORMANCE

Since she broke onto the scene with her debut single 'ocean eyes' in 2015, Billie has mesmerised the entire world with her otherworldly voice. As delicate as it is haunting, it is a distinctive feature that breathes life into the singer-songwriter's lyrics in a way that no other is able to. Additionally, the pop sensation is also known for her strong showmanship, a trait that has allowed her to energise entire stadiums and arenas. These two aspects of Billie will come together at the Singapore National Stadium to give those in attendance an experience unlike any other.

Anyone who is familiar with Billie's music would know that her older brother is an essential part of her winning formula. Having written and produced for the pop sensation since her career began, FINNEAS is the musical genius without whom tracks such as 'Happier Than Ever' and the Academy Award-winning Bond theme song 'No Time To Die' would not exist. The 25-year-old has been supporting his sister on her world tour and is expected to take the stage with her again in Singapore.

"He’s the only reason I’m anywhere in the whole world and he’s probably the only reason I’m alive,” Billie said about FINNEAS at Variety's Hitmakers brunch in 2019.

AN UNFORGETTABLE OUTFIT

Besides making a name for herself in the music industry, Billie has taken the world of fashion by storm with her unique sense of style. Whenever the Los Angeles-born act unveils a new outfit, be it an elegant dress or an oversized t-shirt, she becomes the topic of most conversations and inspires fans and non-fans alike to follow in her footsteps. Be sure to keep an eye out for her next one at her Singapore concert.

"The fan connection has been the number one priority since literally the beginning. I wouldn't want to do any of this without it. I'm dead serious," shared Billie in an interview on the Late Night with Seth Meyers

The vocalist, who was featured on the 2019 iteration of Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, has always had a close relationship with her fans and makes it a point to interact with them as much as possible during her concerts. Between songs at her upcoming show, those in the audience can expect to have an intimate encounter with her and experience her more humourous side firsthand.

A MASS KARAOKE PARTY

As most fans would know the lyrics to songs such as 'bad guy', 'you should see me in a crown', 'when the party's over', and 'Therefore I Am' by heart by now, you can expect the concert to morph into a mass karaoke party minutes after its commencement. It's not every day that you get to belt out your favourite songs with legions of like-minded people, so you would be doing yourself a huge disservice if you chose to sit this one out.

The Singapore leg of Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever, The World Tour will be held at the Singapore National Stadium at 8pm (SGT) on 21 August 2022.
