After being nominated four times for the award previously, A-Lin was finally able to bring home the Golden Melody Award for Best Female Mandarin Singer this year.

The Taiwanese singer, whose real name is Liang Pacidal Koyouan, shared: "I have been rehearsing for this journey for about 16 years. I am so happy. This journey has been incredibly long, and I have waited for 16 years and prepared for [this] six times. Finally, I made it. This year's harvest festival is more abundant with the Golden Melody Awards."

Citing her vocal prowess, emotions and inclusion of indigenous elements in the production of her 2022 album, Link, chairman of the judging panel, George Chen highlighted that A-Lin was the clear choice this year.

Meanwhile, HUSH edged out other nominees to win the award for Best Male Mandarin Singer. In his victory speech, the former hush! vocalist said, "I often feel that musicians are like chefs, experiencing the same joys and sorrows but with different flavours. I want to thank the judges for presenting my dish on the stage of the Golden Melody Awards on this night filled with colour, fragrance, and taste".
