The PICC Plenary Hall was alight with lavish excitement as fans, all glitzed and glammed, gathered for Laufey: A Night at the Symphony. The Icelandic singer-songwriter and record producer Laufey, popular for her unique musical blend of jazz, pop, and classical music, performed with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, ensuring the night stayed in everyone's memories.

Even though she’d just gotten over a fever, Laufey didn't let a measly cough stop her. With only some water by her side, she wowed the audience with her serene, resonant, low soprano voice. She even joked about her phlegm on stage, showing how relatable she is. We’ve all been there, Laufey! But we support you nonetheless.

The show launched with 'Dreamer,' under dreamy blue lights, followed by 'Fragile' in a striking red glow. Each song was, not a rollercoaster, but a smooth cruising of emotions as if you were being eased into the next song. This was made even more powerful by the orchestra. When she stepped out, the audience clamored for her return in no less than a few seconds. Like any good film with a post-credits scene, Laufey stepped out once again and delivered.

For the encore, she sang 'Bored' and a touching 'Letter to My 13 Year Old Self,' reflecting on her journey from Iceland to the global stage. Laufey talked about her Icelandic and Chinese heritage, her dreams of becoming a singer, and how grateful she is that those dreams have come true. She encouraged everyone to keep chasing their dreams because you might just get there one day.

With the rich sounds of bass, cello, and piano, her performance blended pop, jazz, and classical music beautifully.

The event, organized by Karpos Multimedia wasn’t just about her amazing talent but also her ability to connect with the audience. Laufey’s genuine love for music and performance shone through, leaving everyone inspired and in awe.

Laufey is set to return to Asia later this year for her Bewitched: The Goddess Tour.
