Some of the region's most exciting acts are coming together.

Japan's hip-hop acts Rude-a and Yuk-B, the Philippines' singer-songwriter and producer Alisson Shore and rapper Waiian, and Indonesia's singer-songwriter Tanayu are teaming up for a special collaborative project for the Basketball World Cup 2023.

Titled Our New Songlines 2023, the project is a multi-disciplinary effort that brings together artists across Asia to "weave new music, using their imagination as a source of inspiration, while searching for a way to hope for the future," according to a press release.

Rude-a, Yuk-B, Alisson Shore, Waiian, and Tanayu will all perform at a series of sideshows in Manila, Jakarta, and Koza, where they will treat audiences with solo and collaborative tracks, alongside a new song they have collectively pieced together.

Their first show will happen at the Music Town Oto-Ichiba in Koza, Japan on 26 August 2023

"These five artists will create and present their works with the keywords of ‘change’ in a new era, ‘hope’ for tomorrow, and ‘mutual understanding’ in a land of different cultures and values. In August, Koza, Manila, and Jakarta will host the Basketball World Cup. The enthusiasm of the three cities through sports will be converted into the form of music and transmitted to the world from Music Town Oto-Ichiba," an official statement shares.
