Yes you read that correctly. In their greatest bid yet to keep Baybeats as groovy and funky fresh as humanly possible, The Esplanade have roped us in to co-curate this years Baybeats Festival Village!

We've got a bunch of activities lined up to cater to any kids, kids at heart, vinyl junkies, retro-game addicts, and or all-round-cool-persons, so now you know where to head rather than amble around aimlessly between sets. 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

The Bandwagon Festival Village will be located near the Powerhouse Stage at the grass lawn beside Makansutra. 

Under our main dome tent (it's the big one, you can't miss it), we've got you covered for your weekly #throwback post with a bunch of retro arcade games including Pacman and Donkey Kong.

But if you're pretty serious about your visual gaming experience, we'll also have gaming booths decked with PS4 consoles, where you'll be able to battle it out with your friends in Street Fighter V, thanks to PlayStation Singapore! 

We've also put together a lounge complete with fairy lights and plush beanbags — courtesy of SoftRock Living — for you to not only rest your weary limbs from all that moshing, but also to catch some Baybeats artists who will be coming down for interviews, games, and maybe even an acoustic showcase.

If you simply haven't got enough of the Nicholas Chim or Disco Hue, come over and catch them in a more intimate setting.

You'll be able to watch our editors and writers in action, talking to some of the most anticipated acts off the Baybeats roster, while we've also roped in Lush 99.5FM's Elias Soh to take on Lost Weekend, The Little Giant and Plainsunset.

While there's plenty of live music to go around on all three days, you'll also be able to satisfy your vinyl shopping needs: Memory Lane is bringing over batches of classic used records and CDs from a wide range of genres, and Ravage Records' will deal a selected catalog of crushing extreme metal titles on vinyl and CD.

If you aren't keen on queuing up for the gaming booths, we'll be bringing back the giant versions of the Jenga, pick-up sticks and Connect 4 play-sets for some wholesome, non-kung fu playtime. 

Yes it's THAT big.

But aside from music and gaming, the people from CSquare Jewelry will have gorgeous, affordable jewelry on sale, while Made by OCD's handmade comic-themed accessories — ranging from earrings to magnets, cufflinks and pins —  will please even the most hardcore geek.

On top of all that, Popaganda's sorbet treats will be your best friend if the humidity gets a wee bit too unbearable.

We'll be hanging right outside the Festival Village if you want to learn more about the site and its new features, including The Insider, and there will also be a special photo booth, where you can be immortalized as the rock star you truly are.

But most importantly, please come and say hi!
