It's certianly been a rough time for music festivals in Australia lately. Recent times have seen major events such as Groovin The Moo, Splendour In the Grass and Bluesfest pull the plug.

Now, R&B-focused festival Souled Out has joined the growing list of casualties. The festival was due to begin at Melbourne's Caribbean Park next week, on Saturday, 22 February before dates in Sydney and Brisbane.

“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce Souled Out will not be going ahead this year. This was an incredibly difficult decision and we share in your disappointment,” organisers wrote on Instagram.

“Despite our best efforts, the event did not reach the level of support needed to remain financially viable. Like many festivals in Australia, we have faced ongoing challenges in the current market. After exploring every possible option, we’ve had to make the tough call to cancel this year’s edition of Souled Out.”

Organisers confirmed everyone who bought tickets would receive refunds.
