Avril Lavigne steps away from her pop punk roots and goes soul in a new track for 'Tell Me It's Over'.

The track, with its accompanying video, was released yesterday. Finally standing up and leaving a toxic situation behind, the Erica Silverman-directed visual shows Avril and her partner, going through happy moments during the festive season before her beau throws her phone on the ground, and at which point everything falls apart.

Starting off with strong, purposeful strums of the electric guitar and a backup choir, the song then rolls into a powerful Memphis soul inspired number. The track exhibits Avril's soulful range, especially in the bridge, where she belts out a note to impressive proportions. If you didn't think she had it in her, you'll be surprised.
