Every week, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music.
We provide the context, they provide the sounds.
Although he was born and raised in Toronto, JNR has been actually a constant fixture in Singapore nightlife ever since he moved here in the late 90s. Known for his feel-good sets, JNR is comfortable working any room (he's literally played in every venue in Singapore that we can think of) with his enormous bag of classy tunes that range from Detroit techno to Chicago house to boogie to, most famously, proper old-school hip-hop. As many may know, he's an integral part of Matteblacc, Singapore's premiere hip-hop DJ collective, a crew that's been responsible for some of the island's best parties and gigs over the past few years, hosting everything from intimate club shows to massive festivals like Summerdaze. This time though, JNR graces the Bandwagon Mix with a propulsive and soulful Afro house set that's guaranteed to get you off your chairs.
