Every week, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music.
We provide the context, they provide the sounds.
Beijing producer Howie Lee (read our profile on him here) has been one of the brightest prospects to have come out of the Chinese underground electronic music scene for some time, and his influence has spread far beyond the mainland to cities as far flung as London, Los Angeles and yes, Singapore. Coming off the release of his outstanding full-length LP Mù Chè Shān Chū (via celebrated Californian imprint Alpha Pup Records no less) last year alongside his collaboration with Chinese rapper Bojan Phoenix on his FOREIGN EP last month, Lee is certainly on a hot streak at the moment. Ahead of his performance at the Keong Saik Carnival later this month, we've invited the streaking beatsmith onboard the Bandwagon Mix to give you guys a preview of what's to come.
