Every week, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music.
We provide the context, they provide the sounds.
It sure has been a prolific five years for CATS ON CRACK aka Eileen Chan, since she first enrolled in FFF Girl DJ Bootcamp as a fledging DJ (a kitten on crack, so to speak). Lots of great female selectors have come out from FFF's incubator, but few would argue that CATS ON CRACK is certainly their busiest alumni thus far. In fact, she has probably played every Singaporean electronic music festival you can think of (ZoukOut, Super 0, Tanjong Beach Club's Full Steam Ahead), and every major local club you can name (kyo, Kilo Lounge, Zouk's Velvet Underground).
Most recently though, Chan can be found heading up pop-up party series The Council (with Clement Chin) alongside her very own night at kyo called Modern Love (co-run by Poptart's Adrian Wee). And as in-demand as she is, the busy kitty has kindly taken some time out of her hectic schedule to put together this classy, house-centric mix for us. Made up of songs that Chan has always wanted to play (ranging from Maya Jane Coles to Mano Le Tough) but never quite got the opportunity to, this inspired mix offers an hour-long peek into CATS ON CRACK's impeccable taste.
