Every week, Bandwagon invites a guest to do a mix for us. Rather than a standard interview where the artist explains their influences, we figured it’d be more potent if you simply listened to the music.
We provide the context, they provide the sounds.
Formerly part of Kuala Lumpur-based arts collective and record label Akhyla, Malaysian producer Yahna is probably one of Southeast Asia's most forward-thinking electronic artists at the moment. With releases like 'Is It Easy?' and 'Morning Sorrow' (and much more) blowing minds on both sides of the Causeway over the last 12 months - the beatsmith crisscrosses bass music, avant electronica and left-field hip-hop with artful vision and a deft touch. Here, Yahna showcases his sonic influences on the vibey, final Bandwagon Mix of 2016. Enjoy!
