Thanks for waiting guys! Appreciate the patience as we sorted out the details for our live performances. While having a rockin' good time is important, your safety and the safety of our artists and crew will always be our top priority. With the most recently released safe management guidelines, it's unfortunately still not possible for us to have audiences back to enjoy Baybeats live performances in the way we used to. However, we're excited to offer a special Baybeats Backstage Experience, where you can go behind-the-scenes of a live streamed performance and watch the full set performed on the Esplanade Theatre stage, experiencing the music as it is performed live, through headphones. You can choose your favourite band! Quick, quick, slots are very limited, so gather your troops and camp for your tickets on 4 Nov, Wed, 3pm. Even as the festival ventures into the digital space once again, this time, the show will be broadcast from various performance venues, which will simulate an experience so realistic you almost feel like you are right there with the artists.

For the first time ever, the festival will be moving into the magnificent Esplanade Concert Hall and Esplanade Theatre. At the Esplanade Annexe Studio, Baybeats will create a special two-way livestream experience that fully immerses both parties, as live audiences will be projected on screens around the performers as well.

Esplanade Concert Hall

On the heels of the digital festival held in August, this second edition will offer an eclectic roster of performers that features renowned regional artists, a new programme lineup and Baybeats' budding bands, who are making their debut at the festival after a two-month mentorship.

Every year, Baybeats organises the Budding Bands Programme, an artist development initiative aimed at identifying and showcasing independent Singapore bands. In this festival, six of the budding bands will showcase their musical talent through their performances. Here's what you need to know about each of them.

Spacewalk

Spacewalk dives into alluring psychedelic tunes that compels you to jam along to their songs. Inspired by the idea of space-music, the band will perform their new songs, 'Sunset and Sunrise', along with two new tracks that speak to listeners about transitions, growth and letting go of the past. Spacewalk consists of frontman, Firdaus Juma’at, Ruz Alif and Shaheef Rezza Khan, and they will be bringing their performance to the stage of Esplanade Concert Hall.

Tune into their segment: 6 Nov, Fri, 7 – 7.30pm

per[sona

An alternative rock project founded by Singaporean musician and producer, Joshua Aaron Goh, the band incorporates ambient, rock, and electronic elements into their music – think Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead. Comprising of Chong Ming En on drums, Shawn Walrus on bass and Zon Chan on guitars, per[sona will be performing new tracks in Esplanade Concert Hall from their debut EP These Algorithms Don’t Work Anymore, including bops such as 'Version' and introspective track 'Up/Away'.

Tune into their segment: 6 Nov, Fri, 9.05 – 9.35pm

Approaching Aphelion

Having opened for Japanese progressive rockers Jyocho, Approaching Aphelion is a math rock band that pushes the boundaries of modern instrumental music by creating rock and metal fusion bangers. Ivan (bass), Zakhran (drums), Jun Hao (guitars) and Thurston (guitars), will be performing their best tracks from Esplanade Concert Hall.

Tune into their segment: 7 Nov 2020, Sat, 7 – 7.30pm

Remnants

The hard-hitting quintet, Remnants, aims to bridge hardcore and metal through their unique sound, which includes poetic yet punchy lyrics. The band will perform a full set from their debut EP Marauders and Dead Ties, on the stage of Esplanade Concert Hall, and the audience can expect nothing less than an energy-packed performance that compels them to move and groove to the tunes.

Tune into their segment: 7 Nov 2020, Sat, 9.05 – 9.35pm

Terrestrea

In an attempt to express themselves through a creative outlet, members Jared Monteiro, Imran Rahman, Irsyad Salihin, Kenneth Tan, Benjamin Soon formed Terrestrea. The band started 2020 off with a bang when they released their critically-acclaimed single 'Richter', along with the latest track '12 Rounds'. Described to be infused with contrasting feisty and soft elements in their music, Terrestrea will be serving high-energy performances from the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Tune into their segment: 8 Nov 2020, Sun, 7 – 7.30pm

Allegiance

Allegiance is a Singaporean metal-core band made up of Khairul (vocals), Raja Ras (drums), Dzul Iman (bass/vocals),  Syami (guitars) and Subahan (guitars). The talented quintet creates music inspired by rich emotions and presents it in a way that is poetically beautiful yet charged with impact. The 5-piece band will be performing their latest singles 'Judas', 'Gloom', along with other familiar tunes from The Dark Half EP and a brand-new song 'Pool Of Lies', streaming live from the Esplanade Concert Hall. Don't miss out on the electrifying performance!
