Billboard Music Charts has arrived in Vietnam. 

On 14 January 2022, Billboard Music Charts launched two flagship charts in Vietnam — the Billboard Hot 100, which encompasses all music genres, and the Billboard Vietnam Top 100 Songs, which ranks the most popular Vietnamese Songs.

Both charts rank the most-streamed songs based on a weighted formula based on MRC Data, composed of official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of Vietnam's leading audio and video music services, and download sales from top music retailers.

The launch of the two charts will not only showcase the popularity of local artists but also highlight the reach of global artists in Vietnam, allowing Vietnamese artists to celebrate local and international success in the music community. 

CEO of Billboard Vietnam, Myke Brown, shared his excitement for the new venture in a statement. 

“Music Charts are one of the most important validations that artists can receive from fans. We are excited that Vietnamese music culture can unite and shine with artists around the world under a standardized metric for our music industry. A historic moment for Vietnam's music industry, the launch of one of the most respected music charts in the world, Billboard Charts, will be the gateway to the international music landscape for Vietnamese artists, providing a much-needed platform for achievement and success. 

Taken as a barometer for success for artists, songs, and albums in the States, the Billboard Charts have been able to catapult emerging artists to global fame, such as BTS, which grew in international prominence following a string of No. 1 titles on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200, as well as multiple Billboard Music Award wins.
