Big Hit Entertainment, the label behind K-Pop group BTS, and Souce Music, the label behind girl group GFriend, have launched a global audition for an upcoming girl group. Christened the PLUS GLOBAL AUDITION, the iconic K-Pop labels will be going to 16 cities all over the world to search for members for a new girl group aimed to debut in 2021.
The new girl group will be spearheaded by Big Hit CEO Bang Si-Hyuk and CBO Min Hee-jin. CEO Bang will oversee the group's production, while CBO Min will lead the creative direction and branding of the group.
Beginning in October, the auditions will be held in countries such as Singapore, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The full schedule is as follows:
5 October – Los Angeles, New York City
12 October – Perth, Singapore
13 October – Melbourne
19 October – Busan, Gwangju, Osaka, Sapporo, Taipei
20 October – Seoul, Tokyo, Kaohsiung
26 October – Hanoi, Bangkok
27 October – Ho Chi Minh
