'My Universe' just debuted at number 1 giving Coldplay their first Billboard Hot 100 number hit since 2008.

The band's first collaboration with global superstars BTS, 'My Universe' serves as Coldplay's second Hot 100 number 1 after their massive arena anthem, 'Viva La Vida'. Coldplay are the first British band this century to debut at number 1 on the Hot 100 chart.

The collaboration, co-written by both BTS and Coldplay members, also scored BTS' first entry into the Alternative Airplay and Rock & Alternative Airplay charts, landing at 29 and 33 respectively. The track also made it to the Pop Airplay chart at 33.

This is BTS' sixth Billboard Hot 100 number 1 hit following their English singles - 'Dynamite,' 'Butter,' 'Permission To Dance' - 'Savage Love' with Jawsh685 and Jason Derulo, and 'Life Goes On' from their best-selling album, BE. BTS now has five number 1 debuts on the Hot 100 chart, tied with Drake and Ariana Grande for the most Hot 100 top debuts of all time. The single also extends BTS' record as the artist with the most number 1 hits on the Hot 100 this decade.

Co-produced by Max Martin, the Swedish producer now ties with The Beatles' producer George Martin for the most number 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 at 23 songs each.

In a tweet, Coldplay sent their congratulations to BTS and their thanks to both Coldplayers and the BTS ARMY. BTS replied with their own congratulatory message saying "It's been always an honour to make this all happen with you!"

'My Universe' is Coldplay's second single off their new album, Music of the Spheres, out on 15 October. Meanwhile, BTS are gearing up for their concert series PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - with the online concert happening on 24 October and 4 offline concerts to be held at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in late November and early December.
