There's nothing like the power of BTS to bring fans together.
For the last month, SUGA has been embarking on the Asia leg of his Agust D D-DAY tour. With only a handful of cities on his tour list, thousands of fans are flying in to catch the award-winning producer and rapper take the stage solo for the very first time. From fans making their way to the next country over or flying all the way from the other side of the continent, there's nothing stopping ARMY to come together for SUGA.

What was your process like getting tickets for the show?
After I very easily bought tickets for the Vegas concert last year I think Ticketmaster thinks my internet provider is a bot and I’ve been blocked ever since. Thankfully, ARMY friends Maysh, Roxy, and Ana love getting in the fray and were skilled/lucky enough to get everyone tickets. I was only going to catch the Bangkok show but he was so good, nabudol nila ako [they convinced me] to come to Singapore because Maysh found reasonable resellers. So in the car in Manila on the way home from the airport she got me a ticket and I booked the only reasonable flight - one with a 6-hour layover in KL both ways haha—I really wanted to see him again. This time from a seat so I could see the whole thing.
What was your favourite part of the concert? What song was your favourite to watch live?
Mayabang ka [You're oozing with confidence] when you come out and start with your two biggest hits eh, so those were great and kicked off the concert really high. I love 'Seesaw', and cried over 'People' which is my all-time favorite. 'Agust D', 'Snooze', 'Ugh', and 'Ddaeng' are also up there for me.
What was your biggest takeaway after watching AGUST D?
Mabangis [Wild], explosive, and commanding. He knew exactly what he was doing. A well-planned and choreographed show but at the same time it was a very passionate and personal performance. He mixed that perfectly. I would fly to Seoul in a heartbeat if a ticket magically appeared, haha.

What was your process like getting tickets for the show?
I watched Bangkok D3 and Singapore D1 and D2. I only intended to watch 2 shows because I know shows and seats are limited and I’d want for more ARMYs to be able to watch him live but a friend of mine had passport issues and gave me a ticket at the very last minute. Securing tickets was as daunting as one would expect for any BTS concert because they sell out in minutes.
My ARMY friends and I would always have a pre-prod meeting prior, to strategise what days and sections to try to get and we look after one another in case anyone runs out of luck with the ticketing system. We chose Bangkok D3 because Imago and Moonstar88 still had a prior commitment a day prior so it was photo-finish for us.
Singapore. of course, is a favourite concert destination for us. I wished Yoongi had a Manila stop but I learned his schedule made it impossible to have additional cities. He had been generous enough to hold 3 nights for each of his SEA stops (which is difficult, health-wise!) and we are grateful to all the Thai and Singaporean ARMYs for welcoming the international contingent.
What was your favourite part of the concert? What song was your favourite to watch live?
I loved 'Haegeum' and 'Daechwita' opening, acoustic 'Seesaw' and the mashups of BTS Cyphers and the rare performance of unreleased 'Ddaeng'. 'People' is my favourite Agust D song so seeing it live was a dream come true. The Sakamoto tribute for 'Snooze' and 'Life Goes On' on piano were emotional moments.
I liked that it was very different from his BTS shows. The fire and dark elements of the show culminated his Agust D trilogy. While he is one of the most private BTS members, he is authentic and unapologetic with his solo work and sharing what he had to go through from his childhood, through hardships and anger when they were starting to now that he is calmer and accepting that life is what it is with all the beauty, love and greed that it gives. He really took us on this journey with the D-DAY stage!
The other important aspect for me is that he had an awesome SUGA band with EL CAPITXN as the show musical director manning the main board. As a musician myself, it hits differently with a full band setup and I am really happy and satisfied he went for that.
What was your biggest takeaway after watching AGUST D?
In one of their documentaries Break The Silence, Yoongi mentioned that he had only shown a fraction of what he can offer as a musician; the Agust D trilogy albums and D-DAY tour were a testament to that and I know we can only expect more genius musical work from SUGA in the years to come. I hope he continues to share that with the world.

What was your process like getting tickets for the show?
For someone living in South Asia, Thailand was the most convenient country for me to visit because Bangkok was the only city I could fly directly to. Also compared to Indonesia and Singapore, Bangkok was more affordable. As for the ticketing process, it was as difficult as I had anticipated. Although I prepared and pre-planned—for instance, purchasing a BTS ARMY membership for presale access, I failed to purchase the tickets for the initial tour dates for Bangkok. I tried when they announced the additional date, I was stuck in the queue for 15 minutes and by the time I got in everything was sold out again. Since this was my third time attempting to get the tickets I was starting to feel frustrated but I refused to give up; I chose one of the standing zones and kept refreshing for approximately 10 minutes. Suddenly, it loaded and finally took me towards the payment and confirmation page. So, yes, the ticketing process was absolute hell.
What was your favourite part of the concert? What song was your favourite to watch live?
My favourite part of the concert was definitely the beginning, when the entire arena was waiting for Yoongi to come and every time an ad on the screen started everyone would scream thinking the show is starting. But when the first VCR started and ended, and the lighting effects along with the instruments of 'Haegeum' started that's when my heart was beating at its peak and my screams were coming from within me. The realisation the show everyone had waited months for was starting, was definitely the best moment.
My favourite song to see live was 'Interlude: Shadow' mainly because when that song was released, that was my first comeback as an ARMY. Due to COVID, BTS weren't able to tour and all their songs on Map Of The Soul: 7, including 'Interlude: Shadow' never got a performance with a live audience. To finally hear it live and it being my first comeback song made it kind of emotional for me and easily my favourite song to watch live. On top of that, they recreated some of the scenes from the actual music video through special effects and the performance with the dancers which was spectacular.
What was your biggest takeaway after watching AGUST D?
Agust D is a born performer. He's a rapper but he did so much during his concert—for instance played guitar and piano, performed with the dancers, and sang songs that fans could sing along to. He made sure everyone was included and had the best time. Even though he was performing over 20 songs alone, his energy was incredible throughout the show.
After this concert, my love and appreciation for Yoongi and BTS as a group grew even more. I've never been to any of their previous concerts but having been to one now makes me want to desperately see all 7 of them. This wasn't just a regular concert, it felt more like a three-day festival. Everyone was helpful and kind, giving each other freebies, there was a sense of community which I'd never experienced at concerts before. I've never travelled to another country for a concert but after watching Agust D, all I want to do is travel to see the artists I love perform.

What was your process like getting tickets for the show?
I decided to go to Singapore since the concert was not being held in my home country, Malaysia. I chose Singapore as it is the closest and most convenient country on the tour list. The ticketing process was quite a struggle due to the traffic on the website. Nonetheless, it was smooth once I had secured the ticket.
What was your favourite part of the concert? What song was your favourite to watch live?
It excites me whenever SUGA interact with the crowd especially when he went down the stage and interacted with ARMYs at close distance. I enjoyed 'Snooze' feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto the most as it is my favourite song from D-DAY album, it was quite a heartwarming and emotional moment.
What was your biggest takeaway from the show?
The concert truly reminds me of how I started becoming a fan reminiscing about growing up together for the past nine years. It gives me joy. It warms my heart. SUGA and BTS taught me many things from loving myself to carrying myself in achieving greater things. SUGA said during the concert to always believe in him and that all the seven members will come back and hold a concert again, hence I am definitely looking forward to it.

What was your process like getting tickets for the show?
I just got really really lucky! I got it during the ARMY Presale and all I prepped was my membership number and checked my internet speed whether everything was going as normal. Once I entered the page, I was at a queue number of 3051 and they told me my estimated wait time was 14 minutes. I was just completely shocked but also relieved cause I knew I would definitely get tickets just a matter of what category! Got in within 11 minutes, and was thinking I’d have to try a couple of times but I got it on first try for my preferred category. Not too long later, I tried again at 11:40 am and got my second ticket with a better queue number!
What was your favourite part of the concert? What song was your favourite to watch live?
If I had to pick a whole concert experience, it would be the fact that I made new friends and even had supper with them after the concert. Everyone was really nice, we were just cheering each other on and people were giving away various fan supports ranging from chopsticks to stickers to snacks. (In that photo, I did not know of this person before.) Show-wise: It was definitely the theatrics of it all, he was a rapper, singer and actor altogether! He started the show lying on the floor, with the camera panning to him holding his mic and ended the show being carried away (before the encore that is!) He didn’t even wave bye, how rude! But also, I loved the fact that it was an actual live band and I watched Yoongi play music live!
A favourite song? I can’t possibly pick only one! So, I’m gonna go with a few; starting with 'Seesaw' cause being a fan of acoustics, this rendition on guitar is just so soft and calm and I finally get to hear him whisper "SUGA" at the start of the song! Next would be 'Life Goes On', again another song he plays an instrument live and the fact that you can hear him sing like this – vocals are good and just a whole lot better than I expected. Also, it was really nice hearing the full BTS fan chant from the audience before the song started and you could tell he enjoyed it too! I felt like it was super interesting to see that the visuals playing on screen are not just that day’s show but a mix of all the stops. You can even see how he moved from drinking alcohol on stage to having just lemon tea. Lastly, would be 'Amygdala', I will admit that prior to the concert, it wasn’t a song that caught my attention as much. But after hearing it live with the live band and the raw emotions, it really drew me in.
What was your biggest takeaway after watching AGUST D?
Yoongi is not just a good rapper; he is a really good vocalist. Like I was honestly just so impressed and was wondering whether he was gonna just leave the singing parts to a backing track. Another thing is to do whatever you set out to do at your best whatever that may be! You could tell he wasn’t feeling well, cause he was coughing a little at certain points. But he still put on a great show with great energy, he still did the show the day after. It’s quite motivating in some sense. Lastly, he really tries his best to interact with the crowd and poke fun at us! We said no, when he said the last song, and he went, YES? with a slight smile.
SUGA's AGUST D D-DAY tour comes to an end in his homecoming concerts in Seoul's Jamsil Indoor Stadium on 24-25 June 2023. Relive the Singapore leg of the tour here.
