"Get well soon, Taehyung." Fans send love as BTS' V tests positive for COVID-19

BTS' V has tested positive for COVID 19.

On Tuesday, 15 February, BigHit Music revealed that Kim Taehyung, who goes by the stage name, V, was "diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight." The 'Christmas Tree' singer has been experiencing a mild sore throat and visited the hospital on Tuesday (15/2) afternoon. After taking the PCR test, V was confirmed positive for the virus. 

In a statement, BigHit Music assured fans that the 'Snow Flower' act has had 2 rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and "not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat." V staying at home for treatment.

The record label mentioned that V was with the rest of BTS on 12 February, but reiterated that everyone was wearing a mask and none of them had close contact with each other. None of the other members are presenting any symptoms, and have all tested negative so far.

This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

We would like to provide you with some information regarding the health of BTS member V.

V visited the hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 15th after experiencing a mild sore throat and took the PCR test. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight.

V completed two rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat. He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities.

There was contact with the other members on Saturday the 12th, but everyone was wearing a mask, and there was no close contact. None of the BTS members other than V are presenting any symptoms, and everyone received negative results from the preemptive self-tests.

The company places the artists’ health as our top priority and we will do everything we can to aid V in his speedy recovery. We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the health care authorities.

Fans took to Twitter and Weverse to share their well-wishes and messages of love and encouragement for V. 

BTS are currently on an official "extended period of rest" and are expected to return in time for their in-person concert in Seoul this March. The GRAMMY-nominated group is also gearing up for the release of their new album.
