Baramey has just released their latest music video, 'UNBROKEN (ស្ត្រីសេរី)', starring the Cambodian music label newest artist SUZANA, and their featuring CEO Laura Mam.

The song celebrates the resilience and strength of women, expressing hope for a brighter future and the unwavering belief that they can overcome any challenges together while nurturing a legacy of empowerment. The music video unfolds against the breathtaking backdrop of the historic Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. It also highlights other temples in the province of Siem Reap, like Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei, translated as “Citadel of Women,” known for its association with femininity and the role of women in spirituality, celebrating their influence in both artistic and historical contexts.

“It is a great honor to shoot this music video at one of the world’s most renowned heritage sites. However, what truly warms my heart is the opportunity to not only showcase Angkor's global heritage but also to focus on the people who have been its lifeblood for centuries. Just as the walls of Angkor have endured for millennia, we sought to capture the unwavering resilience and spirit of Khmer women, the backbone of Khmer society. Suzana's song proved to be the ideal vehicle for expressing our profound feelings of hope in this modern age,” Laura Mam shares.

Suzana also expressed, “It is an honor to work alongside Laura Mam, as I have looked up to her for a very long time. She has welcomed me into the Baramey family and truly allowed me to embrace my power as a songwriter, expressing my true emotions through music. I am very proud of ‘UNBROKEN’ because I believe in its message: empowering women from this previous generation and the next. We are constantly growing and challenging the boundaries placed on us. We can do anything we set our minds to.”

Directed by Lomorpich Rithy (aka YoKi) of PlerngKob, the music video explores the deep, nurturing bond among women across generations, showcasing their powerful love while celebrating their triumphs, hopes, and aspirations to uplift families and society. Embracing femininity, it portrays it as a profound source of strength and positivity.

YoKi comments on the cast and crew, “We are incredibly proud of this project and the talented women who brought it to life, both in front of and behind the camera. In the music video, we were able to shine a light on some of the most unseen women of Cambodian society and celebrate their voices. As for the crew on this set, I’ve been working alongside many of these women for the past decade, and they have been among the top industry talents in the country. I am overjoyed that we’ve been able to put together such a powerhouse team of talented women for this project. This is a historic moment for Khmer women in the arts, and we hope it inspires others to pursue their dreams."
