Charlie Lim is here once again to calm us with his ever-so-soothing vocals on his latest track, ‘Room at The Table.’
In true Charlie Lim fashion, the Singaporean singer-songwriter’s newest song is a soulful and emotional ballad that’s sure to evoke some feelings and maybe even a tear or two. Born out of the prelude he wrote for Singapore’s 2018 National Day song, ‘We Are Singapore,’ ‘Room at the Table’ delivers a powerful message of being kind, not only to others but to ourselves as well.
In an Instagram post, Charlie revealed that despite many urging him to turn his 2018 prelude into its own song, he didn’t have a lot to add to it, until this year. “I’ve been sitting on it for a while because I wasn’t sure if I had anything else to say, but I guess all the craziness that’s been going on in the world this year made me pick it up and finish it,” said Charlie via an Instagram post.
In support of Singapore’s migrant worker communities, all the proceeds for this year from the song will go towards Transient Workers Count Too, a non-profit organization in Singapore dedicated to assisting migrant workers, and ItsRainingRaincoats, a local initiative that helps the community.
