Live Nation is bringing the chuckles to Singapore this 2022.

To kick off the upcoming year right, Live Nation has announced two comedy shows for Singaporean fans to look forward to. Monty Python co-creator John Cleese will finally be making his return to the Lion City in January, followed by Uncle Roger viral sensation Nigel Ng in June.

John Cleese

Get ready for "the world's funniest man" as he returns to the Lion City to deliver his brand-new stand-up show Why There Is No Hope at The Star Performing Arts Centre this 8 January 2022 (Saturday) at 8 p.m.

Described as an intimate show, John Cleese's Singapore performance will be a mix of part talk and part stand-up comedy with a Q&A session to cap off the evening. It follows the 82-year-old actor and comedian's sold-out two-night residency at the University Cultural Centre Hall, National University of Singapore back in 2014.

Cleese, a British comedic icon in his own right, is known for co-founding the 1968 television sketch series Monty Python and starring in the 1970s British sitcom Fawlty Towers. He has also appeared in the films A Fish Called Wanda, James Bond, Harry Potter, and Shrek.

Nigel Ng

Later next year, Malaysian stand-up comedian Nigel Ng will be making a stop at the Capitol Theatre on 15 June 2022 (Wednesday) as part of his live comedy tour.

The 30-year-old London-based content creator rose to fame in 2020 with his clip as Uncle Roger, a middle-aged Asian man reviewing an egg fried rice video. His videos have garnered over 345 million views on YouTube, while he appeared on British TV shows including Mock The Week, Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club, Stand Up Central, and Roast Battle.

Ng also hosts his own comedy podcast called Haiyaa With Nigel Ng and Rice To Meet You with Chinese comedian Evelyn Mok.

On 24th May, an additional show for The Haiyaa World Tour was added and slated to happen on 17 August. This time happening at The Theatre at Mediacorp, ticketing prices will remain unchanged and will go live on 27 May, 10 AM local time. More details available here.
