Creepy Nuts, Jack White, Suede, Central Cee & more headlined a fantastic Clockenflap 2024 – festival report

Hong Kong’s biggest international outdoor music and arts festival, Clockenflap, featured three days of world-class entertainment - with an eclectic lineup of top international, regional and local acts performing across six stages, plus an array of family activities, eye-popping art and unique experiences at Central Harbourfront.

Day 1 

Legendary French duo Air were the Friday night headliners on the Harbourflap Stage, captivating fans by playing their seminal debut album Moon Safari in its entirety with the Hong Kong skyline providing a stunning backdrop. Also performing on the festival’s main stage on Friday were Cantopop icon Carl Wong, The Hats On Band ft. Jer Lau and acclaimed Atlanta DJ/producer Porter Robinson.


 
The Hang Seng Stage hosted an impressively eclectic opening night lineup, with memorable sets from Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts, Taiwanese indie favourites deca joins and Canadian alt-rockers Mother Mother. Elsewhere at the festival, the Park Stage by Martell showcased cutting-edge acts such as South Korean shoegazers The Black Skirts, Chengdu-based post-punks Hiperson and LA dream pop duo Bubble Tea and Cigarettes, while Canadian DJ/producer A-Trak lit up the Electriq Stage with a high-energy headline set.

Day 2

British rap sensation Central Cee topped the bill on the Harbourflap Stage, where he served up a thrilling headline set to delight hip-hop fans. Other Saturday highlights on the festival’s main stage included art-rock innovator St. Vincent, genre-blending vocalist Banks, mesmerising Japanese girl group Sakurazaka46 and Hong Kong supergroup R.O.O.T.


 
Fans also flocked to the Hang Seng Stage, where the diverse lineup included a headline set by British indie legends Suede, fêted Hong Kong singer-songwriter Serrini and LA dream pop act Fiji Blue, while the Park Stage by Martell saw memorable performances by local shoegaze heroes Lucid Express, Australian indie outfit Last Dinosaurs, Japanese indie-pop band Cody ・Lee  (李) and London dance-punk dynamos Fat Dog. At the Electriq Stage, electronic music fans danced non-stop to top international acts such as Australian ghetto house hellraiser Partiboi69.
 

Day 3

American maverick rock icon Jack White was the closing headliner on the Harbourflap Stage, ending this year’s festival with an unforgettable set. The Harbourflap Stage also hosted memorable performances from British psychedelic pop-rockers Glass Animals, enigmatic J-Pop vocalist yama and Thai singer-songwriter Violette Wautier, among others.


 
The Hang Seng Stage, meanwhile, hosted an electrifying headline set from trailblazing UK DJ/producer Jamie xx, as well as Japanese post-rock masters toe, Taiwanese rockers Gigantic Roar and Dutch psychedelic rockers Yīn Yīn. Sunday’s other highlights included Hong Kong post-hardcore act An Id Signal, Xi’an post-punks FAZI and emerging US shoegaze star Wisp at the Park Stage by Martell, and acclaimed UK DJ Yung Singh and British electronic duo Y U QT at the Electriq Stage.

2025

Clockenflap also announced the dates for its next edition, which will take place 5 - 7 December 2025, and offer special discounted Blind Bird 3-Day Weekend Tickets ($1,690), for festival fans who know they're all in for the Clockenflap 2025 experience, before the lineup is announced.
