The global hip-hop scene is at its most diverse now, with a mix of old school rappers, and the next generation. Encouragingly, the sound and spirit of hip-hop has spread to Asia in a tangibly impactful way.
Now, streaming platform Deezer has gathered five fast-rising hip-hop acts from Southeast Asia to open up about their journey and obstacles faced. The podcast is the first of its kind in Asia and is hosted by Singapore's Vanessa Fernandez.
The five artists that Fernandez speaks to are Japan's Maria, Singapore's Yung Raja, Malaysia's Aman Ra, Indonesia's RAMENGVRL and an upcoming final episode featuring Viet Nam's Suboi.
Check out the music video for Yung Raja's 'Mustafa' below.
