Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway musical In the Heights is going to the movies, and you could be in it.
On Friday (10/12), Miranda tweeted that a casting search for the film has opened worldwide.

According to the In the Heights digital casting call site, the film is currently searching for the following:
FEMALE ROLE #1 - Young, starry-eyed and intelligent (book-smart and street-smart). Must sing and dance well. Familiarity with speaking Spanish is ideal.
BANDWAGON TV
FEMALE ROLE #2 - A strong woman who is stylish, sassy and loves to gossip. Must sing and dance well. Familiarity with speaking Spanish is ideal.
MALE ROLE #1 - Completely streetwise, this teen is brilliant but also a total goofball. Must sing and dance well. Familiarity with speaking Spanish is ideal.
MALE ROLE #2 - Driven, charismatic, and full of energy. Puts on a brave face when times get tough. Must rap, sing and dance well. Familiarity with speaking Spanish is ideal.
Set for a June 2020 release, In the Heights stars Hamilton alum Anthony Ramos, who recently appeared on A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. The Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of a local bodega owner from an Upper Manhattan neighborhood called Washington Heights, as he strives to fulfill his dream when a power blackout makes life a little more difficult for the Latino community in his beloved block.
In the Heights will be directed by Crazy Rich Asians filmmaker Jon M. Chu.
