The pop singer-songwriter revealed on her socials on 4 April 2023 that she will be portraying a mermaid in Gerta Gerwig's live-action film. Concurrently, the official Barbie The Movie socials also revealed the other actors acting in the movie, alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
