Another Eraserheads album is getting pressed on vinyl this year.

On 31 March (Sunday), Offshore Music opened pre-orders for the upcoming release of the Eraserheads' third studio album Cutterpillow on vinyl. Celebrated by thousands of fans across the globe, the 1995 record is home to some of the Eraserheads' biggest and beloved hits, including 'Ang Huling El Bimbo', 'Huwag Mo Nang Itanong', and 'Overdrive', so naturally it only makes sense to go all-out in making this pressing as big as possible.

Bandwagon caught up with the Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia and Offshore Music General Manager Audry Dionisio to talk about the work that went into pressing Cutterpillow on vinyl, what fans can expect, and their plans for the year.

BANDWAGON TV

What can fans expect from this new Cutterpillow project?

Ely: Expect the same care and commitment to quality that Offshore vinyl is known for. It’s rated AAA.

Audry: Expect an easier and convenient pre-order process, and the guarantee that ALL fans of the album will have a fair chance at purchasing a copy or more.

What kind of work did you do on it?

Ely: It’s been mastered by legendary mastering engineer Bernie Grundman from the original tape recordings. We’ve also taken pains to restore the packaging to its most pristine state, as most of the original photos and artwork had been either lost or in bad condition.

Audry: With the help of our project consultant Day Cabuhat and artist Joey Navera, we were able to replicate the icons and the cd to capture it in its original release form.

Who did the teaser art? What was their process like?

Ely: The original icons were reinvented by Joey Navera a.k.a Cowpunk, who designed and created the original inlay back in 1995.

How long did you work on it and how long does it take to be pressed?

Ely: The project has been a year in the making.

Audry: While the Circus project was ongoing, we had already started to get to work on Cutterpillow, taking into account most, if not all, of our customers' feedback. After pre-ordering, they can expect the albums to arrive in July. Album pressing usually takes 3-4months of production.

Where do you have it pressed?

Ely: Cutterpillow will be pressed in France.

We're entering the 2nd quarter of 2024. What else do Ely and Offshore Music have in store for fans?

Ely: There will be a lot of exciting surprises both for Ely fans as well as fans of the label and its artists. Please stay tuned!

Audry: A lot has been happening for Offshore Music and we're really looking forward to sharing this very soon!
