Inspired by his one-week stay with the local people in the capital of Johor Bahru, Jet Illagan a.k.a. Escuri takes you in depth to the streets of Malaysia with his experimental electronic EP, ‘In Motion’, for a personal project titled AudioTour.
Together with Johor based visual artist Kayleigh Goh, Escuri fuses musical genres mixed with field recording soundscapes from his environment. Titling each song the names of the places he went to in Malaysia, Escuri gives you the experience of being there. From the busy streets of Johor Bahru, the calming waters in Segget River to the rainy sidewalks of Taman Sentosa, Escuri captures the city’s characteristics and brings them to life with the synthetic beats that blend with the natural tones from his surroundings.
As part of Buwan Buwan Collective, Escuri carefully plays with the audio-visual themes of his settings, may it be public or a private space as an attempt to explore how these contribute to performances and sound.

Now with an ongoing project that includes an audio-visual performance entitled Going Home, Escuri composed this of hand-drawn music notation and a musical composition reflecting the act of commuting from school and work.
Escuri produces deep-rooted projects to give a personal feel and understanding for the listeners that will certainly invigorate the senses and keep them wanting more.
