Faspitch just dropped a new single.
After debuting the track live with an acoustic rendition on Tower of Doom's YouTube channel, the Filipino metal act released their latest offering 'Heart Strength' on music streaming platforms on Thursday (17/03).
According to vocalist Henry Allen, 'Heart Strength' is his recovery song and an ode to his bandmates, family, friends, and hometowns Cebu and Davao.
He shares with Bandwagon, "These people and places helped get me into my groove again, helped me start realizing my self-worth and cleansed me of my destructive tendencies. I'd still say it's a work-in-progress but just being able to write music again, to enjoy being around awesome people, and cherish time with my wife and kid, I think I'm on the right path. I'm hoping this song lifts people up and helps them remember to keep fighting. Life is worth living, so keep your Heart Strength up!"
Guitarist Russell Manaloto reveals that he'd been dabbling on the concept of writing in 120 bpm, adding how tempos of around 117-122 bpm and 120 bpm on average effect and influence human emotion. "I really wasn't trying to write a hit (lol), but this study amused me so, I just turned on that 120 bpm click and started vibing to see where it takes me," he says.
The entire arrangement for 'Heart Strength' came to Manaloto in about five minutes. "I normally write my ideas in front of a laptop and a DAW but this 'brainstorming session' was different," he says. "The flow of ideas just felt right and natural without having to overthink about the arrangement and sequence of the song. I wanted to vibe with it more naturally so, I turned off the DAW, and got my phone and took a video of myself playing the song from start to finish and sent it to the rest of the guys. Good thing they liked it! Soon after that, we came into the studio to jam and hash it out."
Faspitch are scheduled to release another single soon.
