A colossal gathering of today's biggest music stars, Barbie the Album includes tracks that were previously released as singles such as Dua Lipa's disco-inspired anthem 'Dance The Night', K-pop quartet FIFTY FIFTY and rapper Kaliii's 'Barbie Dreams', Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, and Aqua's 'Barbie World', Charli XCX's 'Speed Drive'. It also includes more recent releases such as Billie Eilish's 'What Was I Made For?'  and Sam Smith's 'Man I Am'.

Additionally, the project features a collection of unreleased numbers from artists such as Lizzo, HAIM, The Kid LAROI, Tame Impala, and Khalid.

Helmed by filmmaker Greta Gerwig, the mind behind acclaimed films such as Lady Bird and the 2019 remake of Little Women, Barbie centres on the titular doll, played by actress Margot Robbie, as she experiences an existential crisis while living in Barbie Land. The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, America Ferrera, Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa, Simu Liu, and Will Ferrell.
