FINNEAS is back with a powerful new single.
On Thursday (09/03), the six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning musician dropped his latest offering 'What They'll Say About Us,' a track he'd written while in lockdown after joining a protest against insituitionalized racism and inequality in Los Angeles. Directed by Sam Bennet, its accompanying visual was shot in one take.
'What They'll Say About Us' was inspired by the story of Amanda Kloots and her husband Nick Cordero, who fell into a coma after being admitted to the ICU for COVID-19. In a statement, FINNEAS writes, "Imagining her sitting by his side, waiting, hopeful for him to wake up, it got me thinking about all the millions of people, all over the world, who also have loved ones, parents, children and extended family members going through the same thing. Fighting this horrific virus."
FINNEAS talks about his creative process, living with synesthesia, and life after winning a GRAMMY
"Some will over-come and wake up again, while others, tragically may not," he adds. "This song is dedicated to all who have had to endure this year. I hope this song can offer some sort of comfort to those who may need it.”
