Forests are making their Metaverse debut!

The Singaporean indie band are set to perform in virtual reality for the very first time this March, as part of Bandwagon Pixel Party. The highly acclaimed three-piece are said to perform two new tracks, as well as favourites off of their 2019 album Spending Eternity in a Japanese Convenience Store. 

The virtual event is happening on 6 March 2022 at 10 PM SGT at Decentraland. Check out our guide on how to tune in below.

Forests come as the latest act to perform at Bandwagon Pixel Party, a Metaverse concert series put together by music media company Bandwagon in partnership with production company EBX, and virtual real estate community Mettaverse. The series launched earlier this year with a performance from renowned DJ and dance music artist MYRNE. 

WHO ARE FORESTS?

Considered one of Singapore's most prolific indie bands, Forests are an emo-rock outfit that comprise Darell (bass, vocals). Niki (drums), and Daniel (guitar). Since their formation in 2014, the band has released two albums—Sun Eat Moon Grave Party and Spending Eternity in a Japanese Convenience Store—that seamlessly blend 90s-inspired emo and math-pop. 

Known for their energetic and exciting live performances, Forests have performed all over the region, from Taiwan to Malaysia. Now, they're set to rock the Metaverse at Bandwagon Pixel Party. 

WHAT IS DECENTRALAND?

Considered one of the first-ever entrances to the Metaverse, Decentraland is a game-like, virtual open-world platform that allows users to create avatars, roam through digital environments, interact with others, and attend super cool events (like Bandwagon Pixel Party). 

Users can also connect their digital wallets to collect and access their NFTs. 

HOW TO TUNE IN TO BANDWAGON PIXEL PARTY?

The great part about Bandwagon Pixel Party is that anyone from anywhere in the world can tune in. Not restricted to locations and venue capacities, it's pretty simple to rock out to Forests from wherever you are—all you'll need is a good computer that can handle the entire Metaverse experience. 

To enter the Metaverse with Forests, you just need to register for a Decentraland account and customise your own avatar. And to add to your experience, you can even connect your digital wallet via Metamask where you can store your in-world process and access your digital assets—like your Bandwagon POAP (Proof Of Attendance Protocol).

The first 250 attendees to Bandwagon Pixel Party can collect a POAP, which are essentially like digital wristbands showing you attended the event. These will give you access to Bandwagon's future NFT drops, raffles, and more.
