From competitors on Mnet's 2018 survival idol show, Produce 48, to topping the show and debuting successfully bandmates in the wildly successful project girl group, IZ*ONE, the two have come a long way.
Miyawaki Sakura first debuted in Japan as a member of the Japanese idol group, HKT48, in 2011 before joining IZ*ONE. She has since graduated from HKT48 and parted ways with her former agency UMG Music Group. On the other hand, Kim Chae Won was formerly a trainee at Woollim Entertainment before debuting with IZ*ONE.
More details on Source Music and HYBE's new girl group are yet to be released, but fans are excited to see the good friends and talented members reunite as bandmates again.
The new girl group will be named LE SSERAFIM, an anagram of the phrase, 'I'm Fearless', suggesting the upcoming group will have a strong, 'girl crush' image. Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon will be joined by the well-known trainee Heo Yunjin, who ranked 26th on the idol survival show Produce 48.
