Gemini-Fourth welcome their turn in the limelight at first major concert – gig report

Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak and Fourth Nattawat Jirochtikul have both come a long way, and Gemini Fourth My Turn Concert, held on 26-27 August at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, was a milestone celebration befitting their journey so far.

After participating in GMMTV’s Thailand School Star talent search in 2019, from which Fourth emerged as champion, the two young artists, along with their fellow contest participants, spent the next three years training further, and getting to know each other more both at work and during their private time. Several supporting roles, bit parts, and variety show appearances later, Gemini and Fourth found breakout success by starring in the 2022 musical romantic comedy My School President and as the secondary couple in 2023’s Midnight Chicken, a combination of projects which displayed their versatility as actors. Since then, both have also had the opportunity to show their equally impressive skills and potential as recording artists, allowing them to make multiple waves in the entertainment industry not only in their home country but also abroad.

So, when their first major concert was announced this year, fans were so thrilled that tickets to the 26 August show quickly sold out and a second date had to be added to accommodate the demand. Those who couldn't make it to IMPACT Arena, particularly their international fans, got to join the celebration from their homes as both shows were also streamed live online.

BANDWAGON TV

Following a fun board game concept they aptly call ‘Game of Fortune’ (you can buy the actual game from the GMMTV shop), the concert featured an impressive set-up with eye-catching props, playful but stunning graphics and dazzling lights, and stage mechanics that allowed Gemini and Fourth to embark on little adventures, with the audience in tow, and soar high (literally!) like true rising stars.

The full-blown showcase spanning over four hours lets fans indulge in every moment that symbolised the path which led the boys to where they are now. From original songs to covers of GMMTV classics and the boys’ personal favourites, duets performed on and solo numbers to collaboration stages, Gemini, Fourth, and the team behind them really took this opportunity to show everything they’ve got; but beyond the music and the stage lights, what made this event stand out were the touching moments shared by the boys and their guests on and off stage that time.

Looking back and up and forward

A few things that feel really special about young artists’ first few milestones: their relationships with people who have accompanied them on the way, the inspiration they draw from those who have ignited their dreams and kept them going, and the impact they make on those who wish to walk a similar path.

After opening the stage together withรักหน้าตาเหมือนเธอไหม (Love Love Love)’, ‘Sweet But Naughty’ and ‘Beast Inside’, Fourth and Gemini each took their turn to serenade the crowd.

Fourth marched onto his stage with a conductor’s baton in hand and a playful rendition of No One Else’s ‘ต่อจากนี้เพลงรักทุกเพลงจะเป็นของเธอเท่านั้น (From Now On, Every Love Song Will Be Only Yours)’, followed by his own song ‘อยู่เฉยๆก็น่ารัก (Please Be Mine)’ and a cover of TIMETHAI’s ‘เปิดใจไม่เปิดตัว (Keep It Low Key)’ – performances that got progressively more mature as his set went on. I couldn’t help but gasp when he climbed one of the backdancers as he executed a smooth forward flip.

Taking a quick breather to greet fans, who call themselves “Mommy”, Fourth did not let the chance pass to tease them a bit. He then turned his attention to his mom seated in the audience, thanked her for constantly being the positive force in his life and, bringing out his guitar and letting out all emotion, dedicated the last song of his turn to her – his own version of TaitosmitH’s ‘Hello Mama’, which included rap lyrics written specifically for the performance.

Gemini’s turn followed a more or less steady pace that allowed his vocal and dancing skills to really shine through. He also performed an original,อะไรว่ามา (Anything You Want)’, as well as covers of UrBoyTJ’s ‘วายร้าย (Villain)’ and Luis Fonsi’s ‘Despacito’, the latter of which he danced with fellow GMMTV talent Jaoying

But the highlight of this set was when Gemini brought out his high school band, Toxic, and together performed POLYCAT’s ‘มันเป็นใคร (Alright)’ and Lipta ft. GUYGEEGEE’s ‘ทักครับ (Tuk Krub)’, with Gemini even hitting the drums for the former. The bandmates openly teased Gemini on stage and let him know how proud they were of him. This had fans on social media exclaiming, “Finally, we got to see them outside of TikTok!”

Truly, nostalgia was a key component of this concert, as they displayed a montage of Fourth and Gemini’s time on Thailand School Star 2019, and today’s Gemini and today’s Fourth reappeared to recreate the talent performances they brought to the program four years ago. They were then joined on stage by their fellow finalists – Ford Allan and Satang, who had also performed solo songs before this, and Earn who had claimed the championship alongside Fourth – and together they sang a cover of Billkin’s ‘การเดินทางที่สวยงาม (A Beautiful Ride)’.

The two boys also received the ultimate treat as they each were joined on stage by people they had been wanting to collaborate with. Fourth, who performed with singer Ally, said he chose the young artist because she is someone from his age group whom he admires. They performed PP Krit’s ‘ลังเล (Hesitate)’ and Ally’s own song, How to Love’, for which Fourth did the rap. He also asked Ally to do the ‘Please Be Mine’ TikTok challenge with him, much to the crowd’s delight.

Meanwhile, Gemini, who had initially thought he would have to perform alone for this set, was surprised by his long-time idol Nont Tanont appearing midway through the first number. Gemini gasped and stumbled a bit as he was caught off-guard, but he quickly recovered and went on to sing his favourite artist’s songs, ‘ถูกนาทีที่สวยงาม (Always With Me)’ and ‘วันครบเลิก (Unniversary)’,  with the man himself.

Later in the show, the boys also called brand new boy group LYKN onto the stage to perform the group’s original songs ‘UMM UMM’ and ‘May I?’, the latter of which Gemini and Fourth also joined in. All of them also performed ‘เขินให้หน่อย (You're Blushing?)’, the duo’s song which was written and composed for them by Tilly Birds’ Third

With so many guest artists who each mean something to them, Gemini and Fourth’s concert really felt like a party where friends celebrate friends on their accomplishments.

From the start to where we are

But the strongest bond present that evening was undeniably the one between Gemini and Fourth, and their dedicated fans. For the boys in particular, this was a journey they’ve shared from the start, and it’s only apt that they crossed the finish line in this particular phase in their career together.

Towards the last segment of the concert, the two of them sat down and had a candid but heartfelt conversation about the path they’ve walked beside each other, reminiscing on past projects and engaging in light to heavy teasing, much to their fans’ excitement. They took turns walking along the runway adjacent to the lower box areas, allowing them to see their fans’ adoring faces up close, before joining each other on stage again to perform more duets together. If the stage design at the start of the show already amazed the audience, it still did not prepare them for the magic of the final acts.

Gemini and Fourth’s cover of Louis Thanawin’s ‘ท้องฟ้ากับแสงดาว (Star & Sky)’ had them floating on clouds. Meanwhile, รักคู่ขนาน (Multi-Love)’ and ‘แค่ครั้งเดียว (Once Upon a Time)’ – songs from their dramas My School President and Our Skyy 2 respectively – saw the boys squeezed comfortably together on a spacecraft-like vessel that once again let them soar across the arena. It was right after this that the arena shone pink, as the audience sang along to ‘ก้อนหินกับดวงดาว (Rock & Star)’ and the boys watched the video project prepared by fans on screen. Then both of them head to the lower box runway again to sing เพลงรัก (Hook)’ with everyone. Mashed up with Bie Sukrit’s classic hit ‘มากมาย (How Much)’, they also took this chance to say “I love you” in different languages to their fans.

But probably the most emotional performance of the night should be awarded to ‘ระหว่างทาง (Good Time)’, their rendition of a song popularised by Bright and Thanaerng Kanyawee from the drama series Good Old Days. In it, Gemini and Fourth showed immense tenderness as they acted out a romantic park bench encounter and sang words of belonging to each other. At some point, rain suddenly poured on them, and they held each other tightly. It appeared as such a poignant contrast to them charging towards the sky earlier in the show, and made me think that, this time, it was the sky taking it upon itself to shower them with a blessing.

Then later, changed and dry, they faced each other again to express their gratitude for exactly that – being a blessing to one another.

“Thank you for being my partner and for being with me since our acting classes. I like this relationship,” Fourth proclaimed. “I say this a lot, but Gemini always gives me positive energy. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be here. You’re one of the reasons I’m standing here today. Seriously. I love you.”

“I love you, too,” responded Gemini. “I’m so glad we get to work together, so glad that we’re friends, and that to this day we’ve held onto each other’s hands. We’ve been together for years, our gang is tight, and there’s so much love. Thank you for being such a good partner to me. Without you, I feel like work wouldn’t be as fun. And you’re talented! I love being with talented people and I love being with you.”

During the encore, the dynamic duo treated their fans to a few more covers, including a viral TikTok dance and the children’s song, อึ่งอ่างกะปี้ กะป้อ (Eng ang ka pi ka po)’, which Gemini’s character Tinn made infamous earlier this year.

Gemini and Fourth closed the night with the My School President theme song ‘ไหล่เธอ (You’ve Got Ma Back)’, which felt like a truly fitting encapsulation of what this concert stood for and everything they have been to each other.  Wherever they go next, whether they do so together or forge new individual paths, the truth will always remain that Gemini and Fourth have changed each other’s lives through their partnership at this point in their careers and the friendship they’ve built through it.
