Bandwagon's Guide to Tagaytay Art Beat 2

Bandwagon's Guide to Tagaytay Art Beat 2

Estimated:  reading

It's just the second month of the year, and a lot has already happened all over the world, both in and out of the music scene. Wouldn't it be nice to have a relaxing weekend away from the cramped and the crazy with a few friends in tow?

That's what Tagaytay Art Beat 2 promises to deliver this coming Saturday. Happening for the second time at the Museo Orlina, this local music festival in the south rose to fame last year with its showcase of diverse local indie music acts and visual art featuring some of the country’s brightest emerging artists.

Now, Docdef Productions and Museo Orlina are back with an even bigger production in store, recently adding Bullet Dumas and Apartel in their already exciting lineup. Tickets are now sold out, but to those who were lucky enough to get theirs, here's a few tips that would make your February musical getaway even more memorable:

Get lost in art and music...but not on the way to the venue.

While music lovers from the south might revel in the fact that the event is happening in their turf, adventurers from the north might find it a bit of a challenge to locate where Museo Orlina is. Save yourself some time, phone battery and mobile data by referring to the map the organizers have prepared in advance for everyone: (Note: As seen on the map, it is advised that you park at the Tagaytay City Market.)

Feel right at home, but follow the house rules.

We already know that the Museo Orlina is no ordinary venue, with its lush, sprawling gardens and wide, open spaces, but what makes it even more unique is the fact that it is a museum - and one that houses the masterpieces of world-renowned glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, no less! Pay your respects not only by taking time to take a look at the artwork there, but also by following the house rules set below:

Once inside, make sure that you get the chance to take in all the sights and sounds. Use this as your guide:

Note: Re-entry to the festival is allowed and doors open at 12 nn. Performances start at 2 pm.

Discover Tagaytay Art Beat even before you get there.

Before writing your own Tagaytay tale, take the time to know the stories of the artists you'd encounter there. Visit the event's Facebook page and read up on this year's visual artists and performers.

Find out more about Museo Orlina by visiting their website as well.

You're already in for a ride, so you might as well have the right music for the journey. Prep for an eargasmic experience by tuning into the playlist below:

Don't forget to say 'hi'! Be one of the ten lucky people to get a Bandwagon cookie when you sign up for the Insider at our booth. (The Bandwagon booth opens at 3 pm.)
