Halsey has unveiled her highly-anticipated single, 'Nightmare', from her upcoming album, on 17 May. A music video for the song was also released, ushering in a new era following her 2017 album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, which featured viral hits like ‘Bad At Love’ and ‘Now or Never’.

The music video opens with several monochromatic cuts between footages of Halsey getting her mugshot taken. It then transits to the title card of the song which features a dove flying in the sky. The rest of the video is a sequence of Halsey in different scenarios – from singing in the mosh pit to posing as a pin-up girl. Notably, model-actress Cara Delevingne also makes an appearance alongside the singer, both clad in suffragette-like attire. The music video exhibits Halsey’s belief that she is “no sweet dream but one hell of a night”.
