The winners of this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards have been revealed.

Broadcast live from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on 16 May (EST), the first night of the two-part ceremony celebrated the best scripted films and television series that were released between 2020 and 2021. It also saw the introduction of a new award for "Best Musical Moment", which went to 'Edge of Great' from Netflix's Julie and the Phantoms.

Marvel Studios' superhero series WandaVision was the night's biggest winner, taking home the Golden Popcorns for Best Show, Best Performance in a Show, Best Villain, and Best Fight. Meanwhile, the late Chadwick Boseman was posthumously honoured for his performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom with the award for Best Performance in a Movie. Another notable winner was the teen romantic comedy film To All The Boys: Always and Forever, which emerged victorious in the Best Movie category.

Hosted by comedian Leslie Jones, the first part of the 29th MTV Movie & TV Awards also saw Sacha Baron Cohen and Scarlett Johansson take home the special Comedic Genius Award and Generation Award respectively.

The second part of the ceremony, which took place on 17 May (EST), honoured the best unscripted films and series that were released between 2020 and 2021. Hosted by Nikki Glaser, the event saw BTS'  2020 documentary film Break The Silence score a Golden Popcorn for Best Music Documentary. The 'Dynamite' hitmakers had been nominated alongside big-name acts such as Ariana Grande (Excuse Me, I Love You), Billie Eilish (The World’s a Little Blurry), Shawn Mendes (In Wonder), and more in the new category.

The night's other winners included RuPaul's Drag Race (Best Reality Cast, Best Competition Series), The Daily Show with Trevor Noah (Best Talk/Topical Show), The Bachelorette (Best Dating Show), and Jersey Shore (Reality Royalty lifetime achievement award).
