'Pivot' explores the complexities of a relationship laced with deep love but overshadowed by toxicity. Reflecting on the theme, HEYOON shares, “'Pivot' is about putting that red light on someone when you know the relationship has become toxic. It’s the push and pull of knowing your worth and the fear of leaving something you’ve invested in. It’s that journey of turning away from toxicity and stepping back into self-love.”
Adding to the song’s impact is Armani White, who is famed for hit single 'Billie Eilish' and collaborations with Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, and N.O.R.E. White’s dynamic energy complements HEYOON’s powerful vocals, blending the best of Korean and American pop music to create a unique, internationally appealing sound. "Working with HEYOON on this track brought a new energy—I got the opportunity to take a more mellow approach. Our vibes clicked in person and on record, so it was easy!" White said.

The music video equally captivating, crafted in collaboration with an innovative, female-led creative team – a long-standing goal for HEYOON. With scenes conceptualized through HEYOON’s practice of lucid dreaming, the visuals deliver a surreal, dreamlike experience. “In my dreams, I could play the song and visualize the main scenes,” she recalls. “It was creatively fulfilling to work with such a talented director who took those dream elements and grounded them into captivating visuals, like the character being pulled into a giant, whirlwind bed.”
Featuring extensive dance sequences, acting, and a little bit of jujitsu, the video amazes with its boundary-pushing storytelling. The project further underscores HEYOON’s deep dedication to creative innovation. “It’s so exciting to bring visuals that can convey the same emotion I feel in my head. This video is sexy, moody, and incredibly cinematic,” she enthused.
Raised in South Korea and now based between Seoul and Los Angeles, HEYOON’s transition to solo artistry comes as a natural progression after 5 years with global pop group Now United, where she earned widespread recognition for sold-out stadium tours across over 30 countries, and released over 100 successful singles and music videos.
