The 2021 American Music Awards is finally here.
BTS on AMA Artist of the Year win: "We will never take this for granted."
Hosted by Cardi B at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on 21 November, 8 PM CET, the annual awards ceremony featured showcase performances by the likes of Silk Sonic, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny, BTS, Coldplay, and more.
BTS made history by being the first-ever Asian act to win the Artist of the Year award at the American Music Awards. In their acceptance speech, BTS leader RM shared their gratitude with their fans: "Nobody could've ever bet on the odds of us standing here receiving this award except ARMY. This whole thing is a miracle." SUGA also looked back on their very first AMA performance from 4 years ago: "When we had our debut US TV performance here... we didn't know we would come to receive the Artist of the Year Award like this." Jungkook also shared that "This is the beginning of our new chapter." V wrapped up their speech by giving love back to their fans, ARMY: "We purple you!"
