MIDNATT has made its official debut.

On 15 May, HYBE's new global artist revealed its debut single 'Masquerade'. Executive produced by DJ Hitchhiker, who has worked with the likes of EXO, Red Velvet, f(x) and more, the song is available in six languages – Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and English.

In a press release, HYBE shares: “We’re looking to provide a new level of immersive music experience to global music fans. MIDNATT is taking on this innovative challenge.” MIDNATT is the artist dubbed Project L which HYBE Corp. Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk mentioned in his Billboard interview about the future of K-pop.

According to a report by Fast Company, MIDNATT is revealed to be the alter ego of BIGHIT MUSIC artist and 'You Are The Best Of My Life' hitmaker Lee Hyun. With the use of Supertone, the MIDNATT project is the first collaboration between HYBE LABELS and HYBE IM, HYBE's interactive media subsidiary. HYBE revealed they acquired the AI-based audio company earlier this year, in their bid to continue innovating music through technology.

In a press statement last Janaury, HYBE shared how Supertone "will be offering HYBE’s artists and content creators an ability to synthesize voices and sounds that had not been previously possible, adding another layer of ingenuity." For MIDNATT's debut single, the track even features a woman's voice derived from Lee Hyun's own vocal range.

The synthwave track is out now on streaming platforms via BIGHIT MUSIC, also home to pop icons BTS and 4th gen K-pop stars TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
