HYBE just announced its quarterly reports for Q3 2022.

On 3 November, the Korean entertainment company revealed that they had earned KRW 445.5 billion in revenue, a year-on-year increase of 31%, and an operating profit of KRW 60.6, 8% less compared to last year which is said to reflect the added costs of concert production and new artist promotion compared to the previous year.

This quarter's revenue is said to come from HYBE LABELS artist releases, including those from SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, NewJeans, and BTS' j-hope, which make up KRW 129.2 billion.

Most recently, HYBE's BIGHIT MUSIC recently announced BTS' plans for military enlistment, sharing that members will start fulfilling this national service requirement this year beginning with Jin, who will be turning 30 this December. The group is said to reconvene in 2025 after all the members have completed their military enlistment.

With BTS putting their group activities on pause, HYBE are expecting a decrease in profitability for the coming year as the globally renowned pop group accounts for 60 to 65% of the company's revenue, according to HYBE CEO Park Ji-won. Until 2025, the company is said to further focus on promoting HYBE LABELS artists, such as SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans, as well as the solo releases of BTS' SUGA, Jimin, V, and Jungkook which are all said to drop next year.

Beyond album sales and concerts, a portion of HYBE's Q3 revenue also saw a KRW 239.3 billion contribution from merchandise sales, licensing, contents, fan club — which included the licensing of the BTS-inspired mobile game, IN THE SEOM

On the other hand, Weverse, HYBE's global fan community platform, also showed significant growth—mainly due to the launch of the app's new livestreaming service Weverse LIVE. Weverse saw a monthly user increase of 7 million users, 16% more compared to Q2.

Moving forward, HYBE plans to continue to strengthen its non-music-related branches, seeking to create stronger IPs and unveil new content and services, especially following their acquisition of AI company Supertone
